How to Extend Plumbing Under Sink
Sometimes you might need to extend the plumbing under your sink for some reason, such as to add a second drain or to connect to the main waste pipe that is in the wall. If this is the case, you can purchase a drain kit from your local home improvement store. These kits are designed to extend a single drain pipe, as well as extend the plumbing line by a specific amount. Before buying one, measure how long you need the extension pipe to be, then buy the parts you need. A standard P-trap consists of two curved pipes that swivel around a threaded union. To extend the P-trap, you need to loosen the union nut. Then, twist the lower portion of the P-trap until it lines up with the inlet or drain in the wall. Once you’ve got the extension pipe in place, you can attach the j-bend fitting or another flexible drain extension to complete the job. Click here to learn more about combi boiler installation derby.
